The Glades Country Club Motor Inn

Our expectations were that we'd find a motel that was 'tired' but comfortable, unfortunately we found it to be quite terrible.

The motel is in desperate need of some renovations and rejuvenation but what's not acceptable is the lack of cleanliness and just how filthy the room was. We heard rumours of some rooms being updated, however we were in room 5 and it hadn't seen any love in some time! Had there been any alternative accommodation at short notice over Christmas we'd have been out of there.

The manager whilst clearly flustered over a seemingly busy period was lovely but that doesn't make up for the obvious laziness of the housekeeping staff.

- The dust in the room was overwhelming.
- Carpet & floor wasn't vacuumed in the 8 days we were there.
- Sheets apparently get changed every 3 days but we're not convinced that happened.
- There was random hair everywhere, on the floor, in blankets and sheets, in the bathroom!
- The fridge seal was gross!
- There was mould growing on the wall near the bed.
- The shower was mouldy and filthy.
And here's the star of the show... there was faeces, yes poo on the wall near the toilet.

Not to mention the incredibly noisy air conditioning, uncomfortable bed, window that wouldn't stay up, ripped see through curtain and the consistent cigarette smoke wafting from our neighbours that smoked just outside their doors.

It seemed a bit like a circus when we were overcharged (yes the manager dealt with this well but that's not the point), she also walked into our room without even knocking - using her key, saying she thought we'd checked out! (Why not check the computer or at least as best practice-knock). We often had to ask for supplies like toilet paper or milk!

Overall it was probably the worst motel we've ever stayed in and I'd suggest incredibly overpriced!
